MALAYSIAN STANDARD MS ISO 14001 : 2015
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS - REQUIREMENTS WITH GUIDANCE FOR USE (SECOND REVISION) (ISO 14001 : 2015, IDT)

The MS ISO 14001 was developed by the national committee TC/Z/1 on Environmental Management Systems and Environmental Auditing and Related Environmental Investigations. The standard is a total adoption of the ISO 14001 : 2015 with carries the title "Environmental Management Systems - Requirements with guidance for use".

his Malaysia Standard specifies the requirements for an environmental management system that an organisation could use to enhance its environmental performance. MS ISO 14001 : 2015 is intented for use by an organisation seeking to manage its environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner that contributes to the enviromental pillar of sustainability.

The second revision of MS ISO 14001 : 2015 helps an organisation achieve the intended outcomes of its environmental management system, which provide value for the environment, the organisation itself and interested parties. Consistent with the organisation's environmental policy, the intended outcomes of an environmental management system include :

i. Enhancement of environmental performance;

ii. fulfilment of compliance obligations; and

iii. achievement of environmental objectives

This Malaysia Standard is applicable to any organisation, regardless of size, type and nature, and applies to the environmental aspects of its activites, products and services that the organisation determines it can either control or influence considering a life cycle perspective. MS ISO 14001 : 2015 does not state specific environmental performance criteria and the standard can be used as a whole or in part to systematically improve environmental management.
